The Water Tower of Africa

I think of the great Mausoleum of Hatshepsut in Luxor. Close to the Valley of the Kings. Pharaonic is the adjective for Gibe III; without shades of irony. Two hundred and iftymeters tall and studded between two jutting spurs of black rock. Like bastions of a fortress for giants. In fact, I explore it, like a temple or like a fortress; I go along ramps, steps beyond any human scale. I explore vestibules and galleries. Then I go back down the steps almost touching the water and in the out low basin I can see huge crocodiles swim like submarines just under the water’s surface. Gibe III
